Typographic hierarchy: guiding the eye without a word

Before you even read a word, the eye decides where to go. Typography guides it: sizes, weights and spacing.

A page where everything has the same visual weight is a page where nothing stands out: the eye gets lost and the mind tires. Typographic hierarchy solves it by showing, without words, what is a heading, what a subheading, what the body text. A silent order that makes reading light.

The basic rules

A few clear levels, not ten different sizes. A sharp contrast between heading and text, so the glance works. Lines not too long, because the eye tires returning across endless lines. And enough space: the white around text is not wasted, it helps breathe and see what belongs together.

Good typography goes unnoticed, you feel it: the page simply seems easy to read.

How we do it: we build a clear typographic hierarchy that guides the eye and makes every page easy to read.
